I feel it really adds to the joke that you showed a meme based on a classic SpongeBob episode that, for reasons I can't comprehend, is now banned on all streaming services--seriously, how sensitive do you have to be to be that offended by either this pill joke or the panty raid joke at the very end, no wonder western cartoons are so obnoxiously tame these days!

In this case, it could be seen as commentary about how weird it is that even acknowledging 9/11's existence more than 20 years after it happened is downright taboo in American culture, while other countries suffer far worse death and destruction every Tuesday or so and it's perfectly fine to joke about similar ancient tragedies like the assassinations of Abe Lincoln and JFK, the Hindenburg, or even more recent tragedies like COVID lockdowns and Jan 6. This and this classic SpongeBob episode being unavailable (legally) to anyone who didn't buy the DVD set back in the day really emphasize that Pearl needs to collectively give us all an oversized chill pill.
